27 Mar 2009 Supper time!

If you are staying in the west and looking for a different place to have supper, you can always check out Alif Restaurant at Bukit Batok! They are opened 24/7. They have some of Singaporeans all time favourite food like pratas, mee goreng, basically indian and malay dishes! The food is okay, nothing fantastic or must try, but for ppl who have no where to go for supper and to try sth different. Its near Bukit Gombak MRT station and near MacDonald’s.

15 Oct 2008 Baked Rice!
 |  Category: Home Cooked, Indian  | Tags: , , ,  | Leave a Comment

I love baked rice! And so i decided to bake my very own rice! haha. This is Donnie’s Salmon-Mushroom Bake Rice recipe!

Ingredients:

(Amounts to your own discretion and appetite)

Grated cheddar cheese

Rice

Salmon

Fresh button mushroom

Potato

Campbell’s cream of mushroom paste

Method:

Before I baked the rice, I cooked the ingredients first. For the salmon, I grilled it with pepper and salt to taste. After which I cut the fish into many pieces. I boiled the potato and when it is soft, cut them into cubes. Diced the fresh button mushroom and fried with garlic and butter till fragrant. Steam the rice.

Place the steam rice into a bowl and add the cooked ingredients. Scoop some cream of mushroom paste and mix with a little water. You want the paste slightly thick to use as cream sauce for your rice. Add the diluted paste to your rice, ingredients and mix. Sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese on top of your rice and place into the oven. It takes around 8 to 10 mins. Do check often to prevent the cheese from burning. Walaa!

Enjoy,

TS.

10 Aug 2008 Al-ameen Eating House (Bukit Timah)

Al-ameen is one of my favourite supper hang out. The food they serve is delicious, reasonably priced and the variety of food is wide! They serve mostly indian cuisine, thai food, seafood etc. Everytime i go there i will definitely order the Soup Tulang, which is mutton joints with delicious tendons, soft meat and yummy marrow. I highly recommend that! Their pratas and naans are also tasty and good. One prata which i do not find at other places is their ice cream prata. Surprisingly, it actually complement each other well! I love their different masala(curry) too; from chicken to mutton to fish! Feasting time!
