07 Oct 2009 Long Beach Dinner Set

I’ve been always praising Long Beach’s food, we decided to order a dinner set this time round to celebrate my granny’s bday! However, not all the dishes were great. I guess, it better to choose individually the dishes you want to eat! The seafish, prawns and steam fish were really good. The crab they served was salted egg style, but its no where as good as the crab specialist’s one at Choa chu kang, SIngapore. The noodles were not up to standard too. But overall, we still enjoyed the meal! Its LONG BEACH after all! haha.

Yum Seng!

18 Sep 2009 Tung Lok Seafood Arena

Tung Lok has a chain of restaurant all around. Tung Lok Seafood Arena is the one at Jurong. It was my first time there and so happened they had a wedding dinner there! They asked if we do not mind giving the couple a red packet (chinese tradition to give a red packet with money inside) and join them for the wedding dinner! haha. Nono, thats not it. They asked if we are fine with dining in a small room by the side of the restaurant. We, being easy-going peeps, said yes!

We ordered stir-fried kang kong, deer meat, claypot seabass and a plate of steam prawns. We wanted to order crabs, but that day they were all sold out! But, its alright the fish and especially the prawns made up for it. The prawns were super tasty and fresh and nice with the complementing steam egg and sauce. Perfect! I highly recommend the prawns.

Oh the Luo Han Guo Tea is free flow! If you intend to hold your wedding there, do invite me!!! =D

Enough of those famous crabs from Mellben or Long Beach! Choa Chu Kang, Singapore serves nice crabs too! Its located at a neighbourhood mall called Sunshine Place and its outside ‘Kopitiam’. The zi char is is pretty decent. Some times the food seems average, but most of the time they are tasty! One of my favourite dish there is the steam red grouper. Fresh and scrumptious! But our all time favourite dish is …. check out below =D

This is the sated egg crab! i am not a fan of salted eggs, but this salted egg crab is just fantastic. The sauce is very very tasty. Its a must try!

10 Jul 2009 Tau Saigon

Okay, today i shall conclude Ho Chi Minh City’s cuisine with this river cruise experience. Its a nice cruise ride moving along saigon river. It last around one and a half hours. You can have dinner onboard and be entertained by the live performances, singing and dancing! The food served is reasonable.

You only have to pay for the food you ordered. There is no charges for boarding the cruise ship itself. What more, you can get to eat some of their local food, plus some other Asian food as well. Prices would range between SGD30-80 per pax.

The first dish we ordered was sparrow’s meat. It din turn out the way we expected. All the birds are so small, it was painful to eat them. Just look at the picture below! Everything is intact even the head! There is little meat and so mostly u are biting on bones. Check out a caption of the menu below too. It says Singapore style! haha. Our local food is going global too! But i must recommend the fish. Its really fresh and nice! A must try!

There are many performances too. Do check out the video below to see one of them! Its a lady doing a dance with flamed hoola hoops!

There are many cruises along saigon river. You can just board them by the side of the river.

Went “Zai Shun Curry Fish Head” for lunch. From the name they must be specialised in their curry fishhead, but i have not tried their curry fish head, yet. Probably go back there soon to try it out. We bought the big Chinese Promphet though. Its huge, fresh, well done and delicious! A bit pricy though. A must-try for fish lovers! Ordered a few other dishes to go along.
